The Black Market is a unique cocktail bar and venue located upstairs from The Market Bar. The interiors have exposed brick walls under a high loft space hung with iconic lighting. The room is set with comfortable seating areas and high and low tables.

Open as a cocktail bar at night, its also perfect for celebrating birthdays, engagements, company work parties and events of all sizes.

Bottomless Cava Brunch

The Black Market Bar has an amazing new Bottomless Cava Brunch on every weekend. If you’re looking for great craic with the gang or want a to celebrate a special occasion in style, our Bottomless Cava Brunch is just what you’re looking for!

For €30 per person you get one of our great value Tapa Boxes to share and then unlimited fizz. One of our most popular resident DJs, Paddy Fagan, is spinning the decks with 80’s , 90’s and crowd-pleasers on request with drink voucher spot prizes to give away. Bottomless Cava Brunch is on from 2pm every Saturday and sittings are for two hours.

There is a discretionary 12.5% gratuity on all table bills, 100% of this goes to the staff. If you wish this to be removed, please ask.

NOTE: on a weekend we only accept groups in The Chelsea Drugstore or Idlewild Bar with a finger food order. Finger food is €15 per person and requires a prepayment to secure the booking.

For bookings of 10 people or more (we can host up to 750) for group dining, celebrations and events.

The Powers Story

The Market Bar is the home of the first baby bottles. In 1889 Powers Whiskey bottled their ‘The Baby Powers’ here and exported them all over the world.

4 star rating Good Group Fun Went with a group of 8. Not busy at all on Sunday evening. Cocktails were fun (Pornstar Martini was YUMMY) and food was good. We pretty much ordered 2 of everything to share. Standouts were the shrimp, pork belly, and mushrooms.

4 star rating A good surprise I went to the market bar with my husband to have lunch and it was a really good surprise! The price was good, the food was fresh and amazing! And I have to say the staff was very friendly!! I strongly recommend!

4 star rating Lovely tapas and atmosphere Busy place with a lot of tables. Great tapas & not bad value. Got the pork belly, nachos, croquettes, chicken wings & Pattatas bravas. All lovely !
